I've been a coach for over 6 years now. I've always been passionate about Olympic and powerlifting, but got into CrossFit in 2012. Helping people understand movement and build their confidence is one of the greatest things about coaching. Over the years, I've become more confident in my ability to guide and train people in a group as well as on an individual basis. I also love learning from other coaches. Each coach out there has their own unique skills and cues, and you can always learn from everyone. Growing up, I was a swimmer, soccer player, and was on the track and field team. I loved being part of a team, but also working as an individual. I think that is one of the main reasons I've grown to love CrossFit so much. You're doing the work, but you always have a support crew all around you.

I think one of the major turning points for me was in when I joined my first CrossFit gym back in 2012. I felt at home, I felt excited, and for the first time in a long time I wanted to keep showing up for myself. I have always been on the heavier side, but CrossFit has helped me lose over 50 pounds and more importantly, it's given me my health back. When I started showing up for CrossFit, I felt a sense of belonging and comradery. I didn't need to be the fittest person in the room (and I still am far from it), I just needed to put in effort.

I love so many aspects of being a coach and running a gym. I love to see people do things they never thought they would be able to accomplish. Seeing the joy and excitement of showing themselves they are capable is so rewarding. If you are willing to show up and try, you would be amazed at all the things your body is capable of. It's amazing to watch people succeed.
